London City Lionesses have reportedly shattered the global transfer record by signing France international Grace Geyoro from Paris Saint-Germain for £1.43 million.
The deal, though not officially confirmed by either club, is said to surpass the previous record set by Orlando Pride’s acquisition of Lizbeth Ovalle for $1.5 million.
Geyoro, who has made 102 appearances and scored 22 goals for France, becomes the 16th and most high-profile signing for London City Lionesses since their promotion to the Women’s Super League (WSL). The club, owned by American entrepreneur Michele Kang, is making history as the first independent top-flight women’s team in England.
This marks the fourth time in 2025 that the women’s transfer record has been broken, following high-profile moves involving Naomi Girma, Olivia Smith, and Lizbeth Ovalle. The Lionesses have also added stars like Nikita Parris, Jana Fernandez, and Danielle van de Donk to their roster, signaling their intent to compete at the highest level.
The 2025–26 WSL season kicks off this weekend, with London City set to face Arsenal in their opening match. All eyes will be on Geyoro as she begins her journey in English football.
