Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Sunday addressed the Odisha Parba 2026 festival in New Delhi, urging all stakeholders to take a collective vow to build a prosperous, inclusive, and forward-looking developed Odisha as the state approaches the centenary of its formation in 2036.
Speaking at the event, the Governor described 2036 not merely as a historic milestone in Odisha’s journey but as a pivotal opportunity to reflect on the state’s achievements, safeguard its rich cultural legacy, and work unitedly to create an even stronger and more advanced Odisha.
Expressing his delight and pride in participating in Odisha Parba in the national capital, Dr. Kambhampati said the festival has evolved into an exceptional platform that showcases Odisha’s soul, spirit, and cultural richness. Over the years, it has become a unique gathering that brings together art, culture, heritage, entrepreneurship, and the collective identity of Odias worldwide.
Highlighting this year’s theme, “Culture and Nature,” the Governor noted that it beautifully captures Odisha’s distinctive character, where culture and nature harmoniously coexist. Through exhibitions of handicrafts and handlooms, classical and folk dance performances, traditional music, culinary traditions, and intellectual discussions, the festival offers visitors a vivid glimpse into Odisha’s living lifestyle and abundant heritage.
The Governor congratulated the Odia community in New Delhi for the successful organisation of the festival and praised the dedicated efforts of the organising institution in promoting Odia culture, heritage, and identity at national and global levels.
Reflecting on Odisha’s profound civilizational legacy, he emphasised that the state’s identity is deeply rooted in Lord Jagannath, whose message of equality, inclusivity, and universal brotherhood has inspired generations.
In his address, Dr. Kambhampati also paid tribute to luminaries such as Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Fakir Mohan Senapati, and Gangadhar Meher, whose invaluable contributions shaped Odisha’s intellectual and cultural landscape.
He affirmed that while preserving its heritage, Odisha is advancing as a hub for education, innovation, and economic opportunities, holding immense potential to contribute significantly to India’s overall progress.
Odisha Parba 2026, held from March 13 to 15 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and organised by Odia Samaj, has drawn widespread participation, featuring vibrant displays of the state’s art, traditions, and cuisine to a diverse audience in the capital.
