The Excise Department seized 21 kg of ganja from a person near Rayagada Railway Station and arrested the accused.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Kahar from Madhya Pradesh.
On the instructions of Rayagada Excise Superintendent Sushant Kumar Dhalasamant, the Rayagada Excise Department achieved a significant breakthrough on Friday by arresting the suspect and seizing a large quantity of ganja.
Two airbags containing 21 kg 250 grams of ganja were confiscated during the operation. Following the arrest, the suspect was presented in court, and a case was registered at the Rayagada Excise Police Station.
The successful raid was led by Excise Police Station Officer Sanjay Kumar Pradhan, with active participation from ASI Rameshwar Behera and Excise Constables Amar Kumar Dalai, Kishore Kumar Bidika, and Sandeep Kumar Patra. Their coordinated efforts played a key role in cracking down on this illegal activity.
