Bhubaneswar: Efforts should be made to inculcate Gandhian outlook in the minds of the present day youth, said the Assistant DG of PIB Odisha Region, Rajinder Chaudhry.
Participating in a seminar ‘Gandhi In Odisha’ to mark the closing day of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the celebration of 75th year of India’s Independence on Tuesday, Â he said the youth must bring out the change within himself.
Regional Director PIB, Akhila Kumar Mishra, said that it is high time that the youth should be made aware of the pains the freedom fighters had taken to achieve Independence.
This programmes was moderated by noted writer Dr Deepak Samatray. Renowned Gandhian writer Dr Sangram Jena and social activist and environmentalist Dr Reena Routray dwelt upon Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Odisha between 1921 to 1946. She said the role of women during the freedom struggle was also extremely important.
Several speakers in the seminar recalled the contribution of women leaders with indomitable courage to fight with Britishers.
