In a shocking incident during the Home Guard recruitment process in Odisha’s Gajapati district, another aspirant tragically lost his life while undergoing the physical examination.
The deceased, identified as Deepak Padal from Narayanpur in Rayagada block, fell ill while participating in the running test.
Deepak was immediately rushed to MKCG Medical College in Berhampur, where he succumbed to his condition during treatment. This marks the second death in the ongoing recruitment drive, intensifying concerns over the strenuous selection process. Earlier in the day, another candidate also lost his life due to health complications arising from the physical test.
Reports indicate that a total of seven candidates have been hospitalised following severe health issues during the examination. The incidents have sparked debates regarding the need for better medical preparedness and safeguards during such physically demanding tests.
Authorities are expected to review the recruitment procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all aspirants in future selections.
