Four workers from Ganjam district, stranded in Oman, have safely returned to Odisha. They arrived in Mumbai from Muscat via an Air India Express flight and then reached Berhampur by train.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his gratitude to the Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, and the Indian Embassy in Oman for their efforts in facilitating the safe return of the workers.
After learning about their plight through emails and newspapers, Chief Minister Majhi directed immediate action for their rescue.
The Chief Resident Commissioner in New Delhi coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Ambassador in Oman to ensure the workers’ safe return.
The Indian Embassy in Oman located the workers in Sohar maintained communication with them and arranged for their accommodation and meals at a Gurudwara during their stay.
This successful rescue highlights the dedication and cooperation of various government agencies in ensuring the safety of Indian citizens abroad.
