Koraput: Four minors including three girls drowned after they accidentally fell into a pit with rainwater in Majhiguda village under Sadar police station in Koraput’s Dasamantpur block on Thursday.
According to reports, the pit was overflowing with rain water due to heavy rainfall over the last few days. While playing near the pit, the minors slipped and fell into the pit.
On hearing their cries, locals reached the spot and rushed two of them to the local hospital where they were pronounced brought dead while two others died on the spot.
Being informed about the incident, Sadar police and Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) have reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
A pal of gloom descended on the village following the tragic death of four minors.
