A violent group clash reportedly linked to political rivalry left four people injured late Saturday night in Hindala village under the Kabisuryanagar police limits in Ganjam district, Odisha. The confrontation involved two groups that have allegedly been in conflict since the last general election.

According to preliminary information, tensions escalated when members of both sides engaged in a physical altercation involving sharp weapons. Four individuals sustained serious injuries, while several others received minor wounds. The injured were taken to the Kabisuryanagar Community Health Centre and the Aska Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. Those with minor injuries have been discharged, while the condition of the four seriously injured persons remains stable.

Police Investigation Underway

Police have registered a case at the Kabisuryanagar police station and initiated an investigation into the incident. Several people have reportedly been detained for questioning. Authorities are examining the circumstances that led to the confrontation, including the possibility of long-standing political tensions.

Previous Disputes Noted

Local sources indicated that the groups involved had a history of disputes, with prior complaints reportedly filed in connection with earlier altercations. The exact trigger for the latest clash had not been officially confirmed at the time of reporting, though political rivalry is believed to be a key factor.

Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
