Former Angul BJP youth wing president Sudipta Swain has been arrested by Bantala police following serious allegations of harassment and threats against a young woman from the region.
According to sources, the woman from the Bantala area had filed a complaint accusing Sudipta of prolonged mental and physical harassment. The complaint alleges that Sudipta frequently misbehaved with her, used obscene language, and issued threats to her and her family.
The woman further stated that Sudipta would intimidate her by brandishing weapons outside her residence and harass her during her commute to work. The police have confirmed that Sudipta was taken into custody and produced before the court following the complaint.
The incident has sparked concern in the local community, raising questions about the misuse of political influence and the safety of women.
