FIFA World Cup 2026 ticket holders will receive priority visa appointments through the new FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (FIFA PASS).
U.S. President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed the initiative after a meeting, and they emphasised its goal of making visa processing smoother for international fans.
Meanwhile, the announcement arrives amid stricter immigration and deportation policies introduced by the Trump administration in 2025. Nevertheless, FIFA PASS aims to boost global attendance and reassure fans who plan to travel to North America for the tournament.
Furthermore, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States across 16 cities. For the first time, 48 teams will compete, expanding the format from 32. Infantino stressed that the United States is preparing to welcome fans on an unprecedented scale, and he promised that football will unite the world when the tournament begins next June.
In addition, ticket demand remains strong. FIFA reported that over one million tickets were sold during the first rollout in October, and the enthusiasm continues despite immigration debates.
Moreover, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted the government’s commitment to facilitating entry for fans. He explained that prioritised appointments will help ticket holders complete visa interviews quickly and prove eligibility. He added that the United States intends to host the greatest and safest World Cup in history.
Ultimately, the introduction of FIFA PASS reflects efforts to balance immigration policies with the global spirit of football. As anticipation builds, fans worldwide prepare to experience the expanded tournament across North America.
