The Delhi Government has declared the war film 120 Bahadur tax-free in the national capital, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Thursday. The film, featuring Farhan Akhtar in the lead role, is inspired by the heroic stand of Charlie Company’s 120 soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment during the Battle of Rezang La in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), CM Rekha Gupta said the film “pays tribute to the extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company.” She emphasized that the story of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, portrayed by Farhan Akhtar, continues to stand as a symbol of India’s unmatched military bravery.

Gupta added, “As a special mark of respect to the valiant soldiers, the Delhi Government has decided to grant tax-free status to the film in Delhi from November 28.”

Praise From Political Leaders

120 Bahadur has received appreciation from several public figures. A day earlier, Akhilesh Yadav, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, called the movie “a good film with a good message,” prompting a warm response from Farhan Akhtar.
Farhan thanked Yadav on social media, expressing gratitude on behalf of the film’s entire team for acknowledging their work.

About the Film

Directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Excel Entertainment, 120 Bahadur stars Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh, leading one of the most legendary last stands in global military history. Outnumbered 1:20, the 120 Indian soldiers fought over 2,000 Chinese troops in a battle remembered for unmatched courage.

The film also features Raashii Khanna, Vivan Bhatena, and Ankit Siwach in pivotal roles.
Despite strong critical appreciation, the film has recorded modest box-office earnings, collecting around ₹15 crore net in its first week in India.
