Odisha Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Hari Babu Kambhampati, has extended the tenure of Fakir Mohan University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy by six months.
The extension will remain in effect until a new Vice-Chancellor is appointed or until further orders.
A notification from the Governor’s office confirmed the decision, citing powers under Sub-section (6) of Section 6 of the Odisha Universities Act, 1989. The order states that Prof. Tripathy’s tenure will continue from January 21, 2026, for another six months or until the joining of a new Vice-Chancellor.
This marks the second extension for Prof. Tripathy, who has been serving as Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University in Balasore. The move ensures continuity in leadership while the process of appointing a new Vice-Chancellor remains underway.
