The Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir on Thursday convicted the former Village Level Worker in Bolangir district and sentenced him to undergo a rigorous imprisonment of two years.
The convict has been identified as Biharilal Barik, Former VLW of Deogaon Block, Dist-Bolangir (Retired).
Barik was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c) PC Act,1988/467/409 IPC, for misappropriation of Govt. rice received under NFFW/SGRY Schemes for different developmental works and Govt. cash by manipulating the official records.
Barik was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and a fine of Rs 20,000.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Biharilal Barik following his conviction.
