Bhubaneswar: The maximum day temperature soared to 40 °C or above at as many as eight places in Odisha, informed the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Friday.
As per the latest IMD bulletin, Titlagarh recorded highest maximum temperature of 43.4 °C followed by 42.4 °C in Bolangir, 41 °C in Boudh, 40.5 °C Bhawanipatna and Jharsuguda, and 40.4 °C in Sonepur, 40.2 °C in Talcher and and 40 °C in Sundargarh.
This apart, the day temperature recorded in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack stood at 34.5 °C and 33.6 °C respectively.
In its evening forecast, the IMD regional centre here said that there will be no large change in maximum temperature during the next 4-5 days over the districts of Odisha.
Day Temperature likely to be above normal by 3 to 4 °C at many places and more than 40 °C at few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, the Met centre said.
The weatherman also advised people to take precautionary measure for hot weather while going outside during midday time (around 12 noon – 3 pm in this areas).
