Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited Puri’s Shree Jagannath Temple on Thursday morning with his wife to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath.
He prayed for the blessings of Lord Jagannath on the state, the nation and all humanity. During his visit, Pradhan engaged in a meaningful discussion with a local educationist regarding the National Education Policy. The guru emphasised the importance of imparting primary education in the Odia language across all schools in Odisha, suggesting that students from Class I to V should be taught in their mother tongue.
Pradhan also responded to concerns about the revival of the historic school located within the temple premises. He assured that he would initiate discussions with the District Collector, Education Department officials, and the State Education Minister to explore restoration possibilities.
