Bhubaneswar: A team of the Election Commission of India (ECI) led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar arrived in Odisha Thursday on a 3-day visit to review preparedness for General Elections 2024.
Accompanying the Chief Election Commissioner, are Election Commissioner, Arun Goel, along with senior officers of the Election Commission of India (ECI) arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport today.
Over the next two days, the ECI team will review the poll preparedness of District Election Officers (DEOs), Superintendents of Police (SPs), enforcement agencies, State Nodal officers, and senior officials of Odisha for the ensuing general elections.
In January, the EC reviewed the preparations in Andhra Pradesh, where Lok Sabha and assembly polls will be held together. Besides Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will see simultaneous parliamentary and assembly polls.
The EC team will also be touring West Bengal, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir among other states.
