Canadian rapper Drake, well known for his high-stakes wagers on major sporting events, has placed a massive bet of $300,000 (Rs 2.64 crore) on Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner to win the US Open 2025.
The artist shared a screenshot of his betting slip on social media on Tuesday, revealing the bold prediction. If Sinner secures his fifth Grand Slam title and his second US Open crown, the bet would return $507,000 (around Rs 4.46 crore).
Drake’s betting history, often dubbed the “Drake Curse”, has seen him lose several high-profile wagers. Last year, he lost $210,000 after backing American Taylor Fritz to beat Sinner in the 2024 US Open final. Despite such setbacks, Drake has occasionally succeeded, including his winning bet on Sinner’s Australian Open triumph in January 2025.
Sinner, currently the top-ranked men’s tennis player, has advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Alexander Bublik in straight sets. He will now face fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti, with betting markets placing him as the clear favorite.
Meanwhile, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz also stormed into the semifinals after outclassing Jiri Lehecka, continuing his rise as one of the top contenders.
With the tournament heating up, all eyes are now on whether Sinner can deliver for himself—and for Drake’s multi-crore gamble.
