IAS officer Dibya Jyoti Parida officially assumed charge as the Collector of Puri district today.
Before stepping into office, he sought divine blessings from Lord Jagannath at the revered temple in the holy city.
Taking over the administrative reins from Chanchal Rana, who has been transferred to BMC as Commissioner, Parida pledged to work collaboratively with all departments and stakeholders to ensure holistic development across the district.
Parida, previously the Collector of Ganjam, was greeted warmly at the Collectorate by a contingent of senior officials, including Additional Collector (Administration) Sarat Chandra Behera, Additional Collector (Revenue) Sarat Chandra Mahapatra, and Additional Collector (Protocol) Nilamadhab Bhoi. Also present were Zilla Parishad CDO Priyaranjan Prusty, Municipal EO Abhimanyu Behera, and Sub-Collector Raj Kishore Jena.
Later in the day, other departmental officials extended their wishes and welcomed the new Collector, signalling a seamless administrative transition.
Parida emphasised the need for inclusive governance and active cooperation from the public and officials alike to push Puri towards new heights in infrastructure, social welfare, and heritage conservation.
