Advance booking for Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited film Dhurandhar opened on Monday, four days ahead of its nationwide release. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, has begun pre-sales on a strong note—boosted significantly by premium ticket pricing across major metro cities.
Thanks to the “blockbuster surcharge” applied by theatre chains for high-demand releases, ticket prices for Dhurandhar have surpassed ₹2000 in cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, and Mumbai. Several premium screenings are already selling out despite the steep rates.
Dhurandhar Ticket Prices Surge Across Metros
Currently, advance bookings have opened for just under 3,000 shows in India.
-
The average ticket price for the regular version stands at ₹307 for Friday, rising further for Sunday.
-
In comparison, last week’s release Tere Ishk Mein opened with an average price of ₹211.
-
The IMAX version of Dhurandhar is priced significantly higher, with weekend averages around ₹570.
The highest-priced ticket in the country is at PVR Director’s Cut, Vasant Kunj (Delhi), costing ₹2400—and even at that price, seats are selling fast.
Premium recliner seats priced at ₹1600 and above in Delhi and Mumbai are also witnessing strong demand. For example, PVR Icon, Andheri (Mumbai), with seats priced at ₹1610, has already sold out for its Friday shows. Even in cities like Gurgaon, premium shows are priced close to ₹2000, while IMAX tickets across many tier-1 cities exceed ₹1000.
Advance Booking Trends
Within the first few hours of opening, Dhurandhar sold over 20,000 tickets, indicating strong audience curiosity. While the pace has stabilized, trade analysts expect a sharp spike in bookings from Wednesday onward as the release date approaches.
