Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday again urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to ensure expeditious procedural compliances and formalities so that all registered farmers of the State can benefit from direct income support under the PM-Kisan scheme.
More than Rs 20,000 crore has been disbursed into the bank accounts of over 9.5 crore farmers across India as 8th installment under the PMKisan Yojna and more than 27.83 lakh farmers from Odisha have also received Rs 556.64 crore today into their bank accounts.
The Union Petroleum Minister, in a series of tweets, expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
“Since the launch of PM-Kisan, a total of Rs 3830.85 crore have been transferred to all eligible farmers of Odisha. However, I have noted that out of the total of 40.50 lakh registered farmers in Odisha, only 27.83 lakh farmer brothers & sisters have benefited today,” tweeted Pradhan.
Pradhan said that the same trend of less number of farmers receiving income support under the PM-Kisan than the total number of registered farmers in Odisha has been noticed in the previous 7 installments. “I had also written to Odisha CM in this regard earlier, he said.
“In the interests of farmers who are the backbone of Odisha’s economy, I once again request Hon. CM Shri Naveen Babu to expedite procedural compliances and formalities so that all registered farmers of Odisha can benefit from direct income support under the PM-Kisan,” the Tweet added.
