Dharma Productions has addressed the recent allegations of abuse and inappropriate conduct against Homebound cinematographer Pratik Shah. The filmmaker deleted his Instagram account after several women came forward with accusations, prompting public scrutiny.
In an official statement, Dharma Productions said:
“At Dharma Productions, we have a zero-tolerance policy against inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment. We take such matters very seriously. Mr. Pratik Shah was a freelancer on Homebound and worked with us for a limited period. During this time, our Internal Committee for POSH did not receive any complaints against him from the cast or crew.”
Homebound, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, has since gained attention not only for its cinematic merit but also for the controversy surrounding Shah.
The allegations surfaced after independent filmmaker Abhinav Singh shared an Instagram post warning women about Shah, claiming that multiple women had reached out to him about the cinematographer’s alleged predatory behavior. Filmmaker Srishti Riya Jain also shared screenshots on Instagram, alleging that Shah had “been on the prowl for 4 years.”
Dharma Productions has concluded Shah’s engagement with the project. The studio reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace environment.
