Indian shuttler Devika Sihag secured her maiden BWF Super 300 crown at the Thailand Masters 2026 after Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei retired midway through the women’s singles final due to a hamstring injury.

The 20-year-old from Haryana was leading 21-8, 6-3 when Goh, ranked world No. 68 and a two-time world junior champion, pulled out, handing Devika the biggest title of her career.

Currently ranked world No. 63, Devika trains under coach Umendra Rana at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru. She has also sharpened her game alongside two-time Olympic medallist P. V. Sindhu under Indonesian coach Irwansyah Adi Pratama.

Her rise on the international circuit has been steady. She won her first international title at the Malaysia International in August 2025 and contributed to India’s mixed team bronze at the 2025 World University Games. In 2024, she reached four finals, winning the Swedish Open and Portugal International, while finishing runner-up at the Estonian International and Dutch International. Last season, she also finished runner-up at the Indonesia Masters Super 100.

With this victory, Devika Sihag has firmly established herself as one of India’s brightest young badminton talents, adding momentum to her promising career.
