The Special Vigilance Judge, Cuttack, convicted the Assistant Revenue Inspector in Damapada Tehsil in Cuttack district and sentenced him to undergo a rigorous imprisonment of 4 years.
The convict has been identified as Suresh Chandra Pradhan, Former ARI, Ramdaspur, Barang Tahasil, Dist-Cuttack, A/p-Asst. Revenue Inspector ( ARI), Dampada Tahasil, Dist- Cuttack.
Pradhan was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case vide Cuttack Vigilance PS case no 16/21.3.2016 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7PC Act, 1988 for demanding and taking a bribe from a complainant to initiate a mutation case in favour of complt
Pradhan was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and fine.
Further, the convict Pradhan was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the dismissal of Suresh Chandra Pradhan from service following his conviction.
