Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) today directed Collectors of seven districts to take precautionary measures after the India Meteorological Department shared latest update on the formation of a low-pressure area over southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
According to IMD, âthe cyclonic circulation over north Andaman sea and neighbourhood persisted over the same region extending up to mid tropospheric levels at 8.30 am today. ”
âUnder its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and parts of coastal Odisha are likely to experience rain from October 23,â it added.
Following this, the SRC has directed collectors of Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore districts to be alert.
