Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss a series of development initiatives aimed at transforming Cuttack and its surrounding areas into a modern and prosperous region.

The meeting focused on key projects to enhance infrastructure, heritage preservation, and economic growth in the parliamentary constituency.

The discussions covered several ambitious proposals, including the establishment of a vending zone and a large-scale convention centre in Cuttack’s OMP area, beautification of Ranihat, and the construction of a park at Press Chhak.

Other significant plans include the integrated development of Satyabhamapur, the birthplace of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, a comprehensive drainage master plan for CMC and CDA areas, a barrage project on the Mahanadi River, the revival of Badamba Sugar Mill and Bhagatpur Cotton Mill, and the construction of sub-divisional level cold storage facilities.

Chief Minister Majhi directed departmental secretaries to take swift action to expedite these projects and ensure their timely implementation. He emphasised a coordinated approach to position Cuttack and its subdivisions as a model region, blending modernisation with cultural heritage.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to the CM Sashwat Mishra, and Director of Municipal Administration Arindam Dakua.

This strategic collaboration between the MP and the state government signals a strong commitment to elevating Cuttack’s infrastructure and socio-economic landscape, setting a benchmark for regional development in Odisha.
