Cuttack police rescued a 42-year-old man kidnapped from Nua Bazar and arrested three persons involved in the crime.
DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo confirmed the successful operation and said the accused will be forwarded to court.
The victim, a resident of Jagatsinghpur’s Biridi police station area, was abducted on December 27. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 2 lakh for his release. His family lodged a complaint at Madhupatna Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation.
Police identified two accused from Bolangir district and one from Subarnapur district. The investigation revealed that the kidnappers kept the victim in separate locations across districts to avoid detection. Acting on credible intelligence, police tracked down the accused, arrested them, and ensured the victim’s safe recovery.
