The Cuttack cyber police busted a major racket involved in selling exam question papers online. Five individuals were arrested, including four YouTubers and a government school teacher.
The group had been selling exam question papers for Classes 8 to 10 through YouTube. The arrested individuals were identified as Jyotiranjan Barik from Dhamnagar, Sushant Kumar Bishi from Bhadrak, Sahil Kumar Mishra from Atabira in Bargarh district, Saishankar Patra from Hinjili in Ganjam, and government school teacher Ghanshyam Beura from Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
The racket was uncovered when Ranjan Kumar Dash, secretary of the Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSTA), discovered that question papers from October 28 to November 4, 2024, had been leaked during school exams. He complained to the Cuttack Cyber Police Station.
With technical assistance from Google and other platforms, the police traced the racket. The accused had earned lakhs of rupees by selling the leaked question papers. Following their arrest, police seized six mobile phones and one tablet from them and are conducting further investigations.
