National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate CP Radhakrishnan filed his nomination for the Vice President of India today, marking a pivotal moment in the run-up to the high-stakes election.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nomination process as the first proposer, underscoring the NDA’s unified support for Radhakrishnan. Sources confirmed that at least 20 proposers were present during the filing, including floor leaders from all NDA allies.
The nomination was backed by signatures from 240 Members of Parliament, reflecting a strong show of strength and coordination across party lines within the NDA fold.
Radhakrishnan, a seasoned politician and former BJP MP from Tamil Nadu, arrived at Parliament earlier this morning to complete the formalities. His candidature is expected to energise the NDA’s campaign, with senior leaders projecting him as a symbol of experience and integrity.
The Vice-Presidential election is scheduled to take place soon, and political observers are closely watching how opposition parties respond to the NDA’s strategic move.
