Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan convened a meeting with senior management of all the PSUs operating in Odisha spread across sectoral ministries, captains of healthcare & financial institutions, and senior officials of State Government to review the Covid19 management and emergency preparedness in Odisha.
Ashwini Vaishnaw MP Rajya Sabha, Additional Chief Secy. Govt. of Odisha, Director AIIMS Bhubaneswar, ILS, RMRC, Mission Director- National Health Mission, officials of NBCC India Limited, Airports Authority of India, State Bank of India, NABARD, Paradip Port Trust were also present in the meeting.
Dharmendra mentioned, “we discussed synergising efforts and working with a ‘whole of government approach’ for ramping up the health infrastructure, including enhancing the capacity of dedicated isolation beds, intensive care units and beds with oxygen support across the length and breadth of Odisha.”
He also encouraged all our PSUs to take lead in procuring vaccines from the open market under the Liberalised and Accelerated Phase 3 for inoculating their human capital as well as people above 18 in the civil society to further speed up the vaccination drive in Odisha.
Further, they also stressed combining the strengths of all stakeholders and working with an integrated approach for creating a robust healthcare delivery system, effective resource utilisation & to ensure better preparedness for combating the current Covid-19 wave as well as for new waves.
It is also discussed ways in which we can assist, facilitate & work together with the Govt. of Odisha in ramping up testing and other resources, including emergency medicine for offering a better and stronger response to the pandemic.
