Acute Water Scarcity Grips Bhubaneswar’s Old Town

Bhubaneswar: With soaring temperatures across Odisha, residents of Bhubaneswar’s Old Town are facing a lot of problems due to the acute drinking water crisis.

Reportedly, due to the shortage of drinking water, the locals of Old Town were dependent on the river water. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, they were forced to stay home.

Even after a pile of complaints regarding the same, the grievance of the residents here was allegedly left unheard, locals said.

Meanwhile, extending a helping hand towards the needy, one Shiv Prashad Behera, a social worker, provided drinking water in several areas of the Old Town. He initiated a campaign to provide water on his own.
