Two police constables were stabbed while attempting to mediate a heated family dispute in the Tensa area of Sundargarh district.

The altercation occurred in the C-Block area, where tensions flared between two families.

While trying to disarm an individual brandishing an axe, the officers faced an unexpected attack from another family member, who wielded a knife. Both injured constables were rushed to Tensa Hospital. One of them, whose condition was deemed serious, was later transferred to a medical facility in Rourkela, where he is now reported to be stable.

The police have detained members of both families involved in the incident and launched a thorough investigation.

This unfortunate event highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement officers when dealing with volatile situations.
