The U-15 Inter District Football Championship for the Chief Minister’s Trophy 2025 concluded with a dramatic final match where Bargarh FC triumphed over Bhubaneswar FC with a 3-2 victory.

Held at the Birsa Munda Athletic Stadium, Rourkela, the grand finale marked the culmination of Odisha’s biggest youth football tournament.

Both teams showcased exceptional talent and determination in the final game. The match remained intense, with Bhubaneswar FC putting up a tough fight against Bargarh FC. Soumya Ranjan Debata of Bargarh FC, awarded Player of the Final, delivered an outstanding performance as goalkeeper, securing crucial saves in the closing moments.

The champion team, Bargarh FC, was awarded Rs 3,00,000, while the runners-up, Bhubaneswar FC, received Rs 2,00,000. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Odisha’s Minister for Sports & Youth Services, FAO officials, MLAs, and district administrators, who celebrated the tournament’s remarkable success.

The CM Trophy 2025, initiated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has been a milestone event for grassroots football development. With 500 matches played, it is the largest football tournament in Odisha’s history. The competition began on January 16, 2025, with U-15 Inter Club matches in 31 districts, followed by the Inter District matches starting on May 28, 2025.

“With the inspiration of many talents and the aim of enhancing the skills of sports talents and making sports more advanced and popular in the state, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Bargarh FC for winning the final match of the Under-15 CM Trophy 2025 football competition organised by the state government. My best wishes also go to Bhubaneswar FC and all participating teams for showcasing enthusiastic sportsmanship and demonstrating the potential of Odisha’s football. I wish everyone a bright future and continuous progress,” CM Majhi posted on X.

This tournament has highlighted Odisha’s commitment to nurturing young football talents. The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) thanked the Department of Sports & Youth Services and District Athletic Associations for their unwavering support.

As Odisha continues to build its reputation as a football hub, young players from this championship are expected to significantly contribute to the sport in the years ahead.
