In a significant moment for Odia literature, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the ‘Kavyaanjali’ poetry collection in Puri during the sacred occasion of Deba Snana Purnima.
This spiritually inspired coffee table book, published in Odia and Hindi, pays tribute to the language, literature, and identity of Odisha.
During his address, CM Majhi highlighted Odisha’s rich literary legacy, invoking the contributions of Sarala Das, Jagannath Das, Fakir Mohan Senapati, and Gangadhar Meher, whose works have greatly enriched Odia literature. The anthology, inspired by the Maha Kumbh, reflects the profound spirituality and cultural ethos of India, emphasising literary traditions rooted in devotion.
The book launch, held at Puri Circuit House, witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattanayak, Satyabadi MLA Om Prakash Mishra, and Brahmagiri MLA Upasana Mohapatra, among others. CM Majhi also visited the Snan Mandap to offer prayers for the welfare of Odisha and global peace, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the occasion.
Additionally, Lok Sabha MP Sambit Patra proposed placing copies of Kavyaanjali at airports to showcase Odisha’s literary brilliance to a wider audience. The CM urged collective efforts for Odisha’s holistic development, envisioning a thriving cultural and literary landscape for Bikashit Bharat 2047.
This poetry anthology stands as a beacon of Odia literature, celebrating spiritual devotion and literary excellence. With Kavyaanjali, Odisha marks yet another milestone in its cultural and literary journey.
