Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi begins a two-day visit to Rourkela today to mark Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.
He will join the state-level celebration at Sector-13 Parade Ground, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Majhi departs from Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar at 12:05 pm and arrives at Rourkela Airport at 1 pm. He will rest at May Fair Hockey Village before attending the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebration at 2 pm. He will address the gathering and highlight Birsa Munda’s contribution to India’s tribal heritage.
At 4:30 pm, Majhi inaugurates the new Circuit House at Panposh. Later, at 5:40 pm, he pays homage to Birsa Munda’s statue at Birsa Munda Chowk. His schedule also includes attending the closing ceremony of the 4th National Eklabya Model Residential School Sports Meet at Birsa Munda Athletic Stadium.
The Chief Minister stays overnight at Hotel May Fair and returns to Bhubaneswar tomorrow at 10 am. His visit underscores the state government’s commitment to honouring tribal icons and promoting cultural pride.
