A tragic incident occurred at an Ashram School under Malkangiri Sadar police station when a Class 5 student died after falling inside the school toilet.
The deceased has been identified as 10-year-old Dharitri Khemudu.
According to reports, Dharitri, who was staying in the school hostel, went to the toilet on Thursday. Somehow, she fell inside and was found lying in a critical condition. Immediately, the school authorities hired a Bolero vehicle and rushed her first to Pandripani health centre and later shifted her to the district headquarters hospital. However, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Consequently, Malkangiri Adarsh police reached the hospital after receiving information and began an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, Dharitri’s death has cast a shadow of grief over her family and the school community. Teachers, students, and parents expressed shock and sorrow at the sudden loss of the young girl.
