Bhubaneswar/Malkangiri: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra is on a four-day field visit to Malkangiri and Koraput districts to review the progress of various projects and flagship programmes.
The Odisha Chief Secretary on Thursday reached Malkangiri district and reviewed the progress of various developmental works in the Swabhiman Anchal.
The projects relating to road communication, drinking water, agriculture, horticulture, social security schemes, and promotion of agro+enterprises were figured in the meeting.

Collector Vishal Singh, SP Nitesh Wadhwani, Project Director Balmukund Bhuyan along with district level officers of different departments presented the updated data about the works being implemented by them.
After the review in the meeting hall of the District Rural Development Agency, Mahapatra also visit the spots and inspected the progress at the ground level.
The Chief Secretary also directed the officials concerned to expedite the work and ensure the projects are completed within the stipulated time period.
Mahapatra further stated that the construction of an airstrip at Malkangiri will commence soon as the land acquisition process is complete. “The Works Department will be inviting tender for the same very soon,” he said adding that “the airstrip would become operational by 2024”.
