He further added that presenting the handloom to Demi Moore felt like offering “a piece of India’s heart — timeless, graceful, and deeply human.”
“Because when art travels, culture speaks,” Khanna said in his heartfelt post.
The Legacy of Sambalpuri Handloom
The Sambalpuri handloom, originating from western Odisha, is one of India’s most treasured textiles. Known for its ikat-style weaving, geometric patterns, and vibrant colors, it represents the perfect harmony of art and tradition. Each piece is handcrafted, symbolizing the deep cultural roots and dedication of Odisha’s artisan communities.
Odisha’s weavers continue to preserve this art form, ensuring that the Sambalpuri textile remains a global emblem of craftsmanship, sustainability, and heritage.
