On the occasion of the 62nd Foundation Day of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Hon’ble Minister of Railways, I&B, and MeitY, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, is set to deliver the prestigious 21st DP Kohli Memorial Lecture.
The event will take place on April 1, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The lecture’s theme, “Viksit Bharat @ 2047 – A Roadmap for CBI”, will outline the agency’s vision and its evolving role in building a progressive India by 2047. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw will also confer the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service and Police Medals for Meritorious Service to CBI officers who have shown exceptional dedication in their service.
The DP Kohli Memorial Lecture, an annual event since 2000, pays tribute to the CBI’s founding director, Shri Dharamnath Prasad Kohli. Shri Kohli, who served as CBI’s first director from 1963 to 1968, laid the foundation for the bureau’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and impartiality in criminal investigation.
This year’s event reflects the CBI’s expanded role in addressing modern challenges such as cyber-enabled financial crimes and online child exploitation. Serving as India’s National Central Bureau for INTERPOL, CBI also strengthens international law enforcement cooperation.
The lecture continues to foster critical dialogue on law enforcement and underscores Shri Kohli’s legacy in shaping CBI as India’s premier investigative agency.
