A tragic accident occurred near Bulani on the Ranchi–Vijayawada National Highway 153(B) and the Redhakhol–Boudh road, where a cattle-laden container lost balance and overturned.
In the mishap, one person died, and more than 30 cattle were killed. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.
Upon receiving information, Kiakata Police Station Officer Anup Kumar Tirkey, along with his team, reached the spot. With the assistance of the Boudh Fire Services, the bodies of the deceased and the dead cattle were recovered.
Reports suggest that the container was coming from Boudh towards Redhakhol when the accident occurred. The vehicle was allegedly carrying over 50 cattle, with five suspected cattle smugglers onboard.
Rescue teams from Kiaakata Police and Boudh Fire Services worked throughout the morning to free trapped animals. While more than 30 cattle were found dead, eight severely injured cattle were rescued alive.
