A tragic accident occurred in Khananagar, Cuttack, when a slab from an under-construction bridge collapsed, resulting in the death of two individuals and serious injuries to three others.


The accident, which occurred during ongoing construction work, has raised concerns about safety protocols at the site.

According to initial reports, five persons were affected by the collapse. While two lost their lives due to the impact, the remaining three sustained critical injuries and were immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the collapse, but are expected to launch a detailed investigation into potential structural flaws or lapses in construction oversight.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as rescue teams rushed to retrieve those trapped under debris. Local authorities and engineers are now reviewing safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
