In a critical escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, multiple missile and drone attacks were launched from across the border, targeting key locations including Jammu, Rajasthan, and Punjab.
However, India’s air defence systems, including the advanced S-400 and Akash missile systems, successfully intercepted all incoming threats, preventing any significant damage.
For a second consecutive day, major blackouts hit Jammu and Pathankot following intense Pakistani shelling in Poonch and Uri. Sirens blared across cities, urging residents to seek shelter as drones were sighted over strategic locations, including Samba and Handwara.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah issued a public advisory urging citizens to remain indoors and avoid spreading misinformation. “It’s my earnest appeal to everyone—please stay off the streets and stay safe,” he stated via social media.

In response to these developments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level security meeting with the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, assessing military strategies. Additionally, a separate meeting was held with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to discuss operational responses.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar also spoke about India’s growing self-reliance, emphasizing that the country’s governance is prepared to address any external threats.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari directed officials to ensure the safety of critical infrastructure, including roads and transportation networks, amid heightened security concerns.
Meanwhile, AIIMS Delhi cancelled all staff leaves, reinforcing emergency preparedness as tensions continued to rise.
India’s ambassador to the United States, Vinay Kwatra, addressed global media, stating that India is at war with terrorists and will hold all perpetrators accountable for recent attacks, particularly the Pahalgam terror incident.
As the situation unfolds, India’s military remains on high alert, monitoring further possible cross-border provocations.
