A serious accident occurred near Kharali Nala on National Highway 353 under Komna police limits in Nuapada district when a bike collided with a bicycle.
The impact triggered a sudden fire, engulfing the bike in flames.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bike was completely gutted in the blaze. The rider, identified as 30‑year‑old Mansadan Majhi of Baranda Pat village, sustained severe burn injuries as parts of his body caught fire.
Komna police and fire service personnel reached the spot immediately. They rescued the injured youth and sent him to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Komna police registered a case and initiated further investigation. Officer‑in‑Charge Rashmita Pradhan confirmed that inquiries are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire and the circumstances leading to the collision.
