The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the Bihar Legislative Assembly Election 2025 and bye-elections for eight Assembly Constituencies.
Voting will take place in two phases—on November 6 and November 11.
To maintain a fair campaign environment, the ECI has mandated that no political party, candidate, organization, or individual may publish advertisements in print media on the poll day or the day before, unless the content is pre-certified by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at the State or District level.
For Bihar, the restricted dates are November 5 and 6 for Phase-I, and November 10 and 11 for Phase-II. Political entities must submit their advertisements for pre-certification at least two days before the intended publication date.
The ECI has activated MCMC units across the state to ensure timely examination and certification of political ads. These committees are tasked with making swift decisions to avoid delays and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
This move reinforces the Commission’s commitment to transparent and ethical campaigning during elections.
