Bigg Boss 19 will premiere on August 24, 2025, with host Salman Khan returning — though an alternate host may step in during his absence due to film commitments.
This year, the reality show will run for 20–22 weeks, longer than the usual 15. JioHotstar will stream one-hour episodes first, followed by a delayed telecast on Colors TV. The digital platform will also continue 24×7 live streaming.
The season’s theme, “Gharwalon ki Sarkaar”, promises a major twist in the power structure inside the house.
Tentative contestants include Dheeraj Dhoopar, Apoorva Mukhija, Mr Faisu, Dhanashree Verma, Munmun Dutta, Rati Pandey, Hunar Hali, Sreerama Chandra, Meera Deosthale, and Bhavika Sharma.
After the issues between Banijay Asia and Colors TV, it was decided that ‘Bigg Boss’ would only have one season, and not separate shows for TV and OTT. JioHotstar will be overseeing the show’s production this year instead of Colors TV, and the channel will merely be an airing partner. However, Colors and Banijay are also planning to move past the differences and work on getting Khatron Ke Khiladi back, which is a flagship project for both parties.
