Bigg Boss 19, known for its high drama and entertainment quotient, has already sparked viewer debates, with influencer and entrepreneur Tanya Mittal emerging as one of the most talked-about contestants.

Mittal’s remarks about demanding respect, insisting on being called “boss,” and flaunting her high-level security arrangements have drawn widespread criticism online.

Insistence on Being Called ‘Boss’

On the show, Tanya Mittal interrupted fellow contestant Kunickaa when she asked Mridul not to address any other female contestants as “ma’am.” Tanya said, “Mujhe toh ma’am bolo, mujhe boss hi bolte hain sab log (Call me ma’am because people anyways call me boss). I anyway don’t like it that people are calling me by name.” She further revealed that her family also addresses her as ‘boss’ and expressed her desire to receive respect immediately rather than later in life.

High Security Boast Draws Attention

Tanya also spoke about walking with four PSOs and two car convoys, despite not having faced any threats. Speaking to co-contestants, she claimed, “My bodyguards saved 100 people in Kumbh Mela, even saved police, and that’s why I ended up here. We like having PSOs and staff. This has been going on in my family for a long time.” She emphasized her familiarity with living under strict security arrangements and hinted at enjoying the attention it brings.

Pride in Maintaining Personal Identity

In conversations with comedian Pranit More, Tanya expressed pride in joining the Bigg Boss house without compromising her cultural identity or lifestyle. She said, “Female actors have to do a lot of things. Those types of scenes and wear those types of clothes. But I reached here without doing any of these things, so that’s an achievement for me.” She further confirmed that she brought nine suitcases into the house and has no intention of toning down her luxurious lifestyle.

Social Media Reacts

Tanya’s statements have sparked a strong reaction online. Viewers labelled her as “self-obsessed,” “egoistic,” and “narcissistic.” Comments compared her to Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, calling her “Urvashi Rautela 2.0,” and criticised her for allegedly putting other contestants down to stand out. Several viewers also described her behaviour as “total pick-me behaviour.”

Bigg Boss 19 Updates

Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan, has a unique theme this season, Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar, giving contestants decision-making powers. In a twist during the first episode, contestant Farhana Bhatt was moved to a secret room after being voted out. The show airs daily at 9 pm on JioHotstar and at 10:30 pm on Colors TV.
