A shocking case has emerged from Bhubaneswar’s Chandrasekharpur area, where an aspiring singer was allegedly lured with promises of a music career, drugged, and sexually abused. Police have arrested three people in connection with the crime.
According to police sources, the incident took place on September 10. The victim was reportedly promised an introduction to a music director and taken to a hotel around noon. There, the prime accused, Chandan Kumar Hati alias Chandu, and his associate Prasanna Kumar Acharya allegedly forced the victim to consume intoxicants and later assaulted her.
The third accused, Rajesh Kumar Das, the caretaker of the lodge, allegedly facilitated the crime by arranging the room.
Investigations revealed that the woman was misled, confined to the room, and subjected to abuse after being drugged.
Chandrasekharpur police arrested all three accused following a detailed probe. During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to their involvement. They have since been produced before a local court.
