Commissionerate Police have successfully apprehended the prime accused in the recent shooting at a bouncer following a brawl at a bar in Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar

The suspects, identified as Dadhibamana Jena and Krushna Chandra Barik, were caught in an intense manhunt across multiple districts.

According to the police report, the altercation began in May 10, when an argument escalated outside a local bar. The situation took a violent turn as suspects allegedly threw stones, damaging property, and later attempted an assault on the complainant, Suryakanta Pradhan. As tensions peaked, Jena reportedly fired upon the complainant, who is now recovering at KIIMS hospital.

Following swift action under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, teams conducted multiple raids in Puri, Dhenkanal, Angul, Cuttack, and Khurda, leading to the arrest of 11 individuals so far. Last night, the Special Crime Unit (SCU) led by Addl. DCP Anup Kanungo successfully apprehended the prime accused along with the firearm used in the attack.

The accused, already linked to past criminal cases in Nayapalli, Bharatpur, Koida, Airport, Badagada, and Airfield police stations, are now in custody, facing charges under the BNS and Arms Act.

Authorities assure continued investigations and stringent action against those involved.
