Preparations for 79th Independence Day celebrations are in full swing in Odisha, with the state-level parade set to take place on Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Bhubaneswar. A full-dress rehearsal was held today to ensure a flawless performance on August 15.
Fifty contingents, including those from the Border Security Force (BSF), Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and school students, participated in the practice. The parade will also feature four police bands and four school bands, adding vibrant music and rhythm to the event.
Leading the parade this year will be Contingent Commander Ananya Abasti, who will guide the marching units with precision. The administration has finalised security measures, traffic control, and seating arrangements to ensure smooth proceedings.
Large crowds are expected to gather to witness the parade and cultural programmes, marking another proud chapter in India’s freedom journey.
