In connection with a high-profile burglary at Gandamunda Square, Nayapalli Police arrested two accused—Bharat Pandit alias Kuna and Shakti Prasad Karan—linked to a theft involving ₹2,12,000 in cash, cigarettes worth ₹2,00,000, and other valuable items.
The shop, owned by Suchismita Rajput, was reportedly broken into by cutting its asbestos sheets.
A raid on March 28 led to the seizure of an auto-rickshaw, crowbars, face masks, and ₹40,000 in stolen cash. Various contraband items, including cigarettes and gutka packets, were also recovered.
The accused have multiple prior criminal antecedents spanning several police stations. Further investigations are underway to bring the case to a logical conclusion, the Commissionerate Police said.
