During her visit to Bhadrak district, Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Odisha, visited the Aahar Kendra in Bhadrak town.
Managed by the Radha Krushna Self Help Group (SHG), the center has become a cornerstone for ensuring nutritious, affordable meals for urban poor and working-class citizens.
Smt. Padhee engaged with SHG members and beneficiaries, expressing her admiration for the high standards of food quality and hygiene maintained at the facility. She applauded the women of Radha Krushna SHG for their dedication and contribution, not only to food security but also to community well-being and women’s empowerment.
“The dedication of these women in efficiently managing the Aahar Kendra demonstrates the power of community-led initiatives in urban governance. Their commitment is truly inspiring,” Smt. Padhee remarked.
Her visit underscores the State Government’s commitment to strengthening livelihoods through SHGs while ensuring dignified, nutritious meals under the Aahar programme. The Aahar Kendras continue to represent a compelling example of community resilience and governance at its best.
